Dave Wagoner is currently the Manager for the Capacity Management infrastructure group at Nationwide Insurance and has been in that role since 2007. He held a similar leadership position of a Capacity and Performance group for eight years at LexisNexis. He also has held a variety of leadership roles in software development and infrastructure technical groups at Computer Sciences Corporation, Universal Technology Corporation, and Cleveland State University. He has experience in commercial, government, and academic computing environments.
Throughout his career, Dave has focused on staff development, working extensively with junior staff and cooperative educational (co-op) students as well as the continued development of senior staff members. Dave was a full-time faculty member at Wright State University where he created and taught beginning and advanced programming courses for engineers.
Dave has published papers in the Computer Measurement Group Annual Proceedings on capacity planning and on benchmarking high-performance storage technology. He has an open source contribution of a benchmarking utility for high-performance storage arrays. He has presented papers at Sun SuperG and Computer Measurement Group Annual conferences.
Dave earned Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer and Information Science from Cleveland State University and a Master’s Degree in Management from the McGregor School, Antioch College. He also has completed PhD coursework in Computer Science at Wright State University. His focus areas were operating systems, programming languages, and computational theory.
